The introduction of hybrid and electric drives in the automotive industry leads, due to their low noise emissions, to an increasing awareness of the driver with regard to all other noise sources in the vehicle. Noises that are superimposed on conventional drive technologies are now clearly perceived by the driver and are often rated as annoying. These range from the noise of the transmission of a parking brake, a windshield wiper motor to seat adjustment.
In order to respond to the increased demands on noise emissions, Precision Components signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Siegen in November 2020 to develop new solutions for noise reduction.
